Results documentation and Excel export

Step 7: review the finished FMEA as one table and export it to Excel.

Chapters · 1:29

In step 7, everything you entered is compiled into a single table in the AIAG-VDA format. There is nothing to copy over by hand; the preview is exactly what the Excel file will contain.

What the results table contains

  • Header: the planning information from step 1, such as company, team, timing, and analysis scope.
  • Analysis columns: structure, function, failure, and risk analysis follow as columns for each step. Each failure chain on the canvas becomes one row.
  • Scores: severity, occurrence, detection, and AP carry over, and AP is color-coded by level.
  • Optimization columns: improvement actions, responsible person, target date, and the scores and AP after the actions.

Export to Excel

The sheet tabs at the bottom match the sheets of the Excel file: the analysis table plus a rating scale sheet. Click Export in the top right corner to download the file exactly as previewed, ready to share with customers or within your company.
