QSA Hub documentation
A one-minute tour of QSA Hub, from planning to the finished FMEA report.
Chapters · 0:57
QSA Hub is a web tool for building FMEAs in the AIAG-VDA seven-step format. You draw structure, functions, and failures on a single canvas, rate risk with automatic action priority (AP), and export the result as a standard Excel report. These guides walk through each step with short videos.
How an FMEA is built in QSA Hub
- 1Planning and preparation: choose the FMEA type and fill in the report header, scope, and team.
- 2Structure analysis: break the system into levels of elements on the canvas.
- 3Function analysis: describe what each element does and link higher and lower functions.
- 4Failure analysis: connect failure effects, failure modes, and failure causes into failure chains.
- 5Risk analysis: record current controls and rate severity, occurrence, and detection. AP is calculated for you.
- 6Optimization: plan preventive and detection actions and see the AP after the actions.
- 7Results documentation: review everything in one standard table and export it to Excel.
Every step works on the same document, so what you enter once carries through to the risk table and the report. There is no save button; changes are saved as you work.
Where to start
- New to QSA Hub: follow Create your first FMEA, then the how-to guides in order. Each video picks up where the previous one ended.
- Already working in a document: jump to the guide for the step you are on, or use the chapter list under each video.
- Every new account includes a completed sample FMEA (My FMEA in My Project) that you can explore and edit freely.
Create your first FMEA
Create a document and complete step 1, planning and preparation.
WatchStructure, function, and failure analysis
Steps 2 to 4: draw structure elements, functions, and failure chains on the canvas.
WatchRisk analysis and optimization
Steps 5 and 6: rate failure chains in the Analysis Window and plan improvement actions.
WatchResults and Excel export
Step 7: review the finished FMEA as one table and export it to Excel.
WatchCanvas editing
Add, rename, reorder, copy, connect, and delete elements with the keyboard or the toolbar.
WatchLibrary and Foundation FMEA
Search completed FMEAs and reuse them as a new document or inside your canvas.
WatchReview, change history, and versions
Check the document, trace every change, and keep named versions and revisions.
WatchThese guides explain how to use QSA Hub. For the method itself, start with the FMEA guides. Read the FMEA guides
Try it on your own analysis
