v0.1.0
In-app help and easier canvas editing
What’s changed (please note)
- [Canvas] Dragging the background with the left mouse button now draws a selection box instead of moving the view. To move the view, drag with the middle or right button.
New
- [Everywhere] See an explanation for the screen and item you are working on, in a speech bubble.
How to use: Turn it on or off with the ? icon at the bottom of the left rail. Hover over or click an element, input field or icon to see its explanation. Drag the title bar to move the bubble and drag the bottom-right corner to resize it; its position and size are remembered on this device. The Controls button shows keyboard shortcuts and mouse actions.
What is included- Step-by-step guidance for Steps 1–7: why each step matters, what to do now, and what to avoid. Step 1 explains each input field separately. Step 7 also covers what to put in the report.
- Explanations for each item in the bottom analysis panel: Severity (S), Occurrence (O), Detection (D), Action Priority (AP), prevention and detection controls, and the optimization box. For MSR (monitoring and system response), Frequency (F), Monitoring (M), monitoring controls, system response, rationale for frequency, mitigated severity and AP are explained too.
- Process FMEA (PFMEA) guidance: process steps, work elements (man, machine, material, environment), and the difference between product and process characteristics.
- Writing tips and review alignment: tips for each item, with explanations that match what the review (readiness check) looks at.
- App-wide guidance: the left rail, the navigation pane, the top menu and the right sidebar icons.
- [Canvas toolbar] Add, connect and delete elements with buttons.
How to use: Use the Multi-select, Connect / Disconnect, Add Sibling, Add Parent, Add Child and Delete buttons in the toolbar. They do the same as `Shift` + click, `Space`, `Shift` + `↓`/`←`/`→` and `Del`. In Step 2, when there are no structure elements yet, create the first one with the Add First Structure Element button on the canvas.
- [Canvas] Drag on the background to select the elements and connection lines inside a box at once.
How to use: Step 2 selects structure elements, Step 3 functions, and Step 4 onward failures, along with their connection lines. Hold `Shift` while dragging, or turn on Multi-select, to add to the current selection. Then press `Space` to connect or disconnect, or `Del` to delete.
- [Settings · Notifications] See what changed in each update and get notified of new releases.
How to use: Expand each release under Settings › System › Version Info. When a new release comes out you get a notification, and “View release notes” opens its details. You can also read them from the “Updates” link at the bottom of the website.
Improvements
- [Canvas toolbar] The highlight button now cycles through All Chains → Single Chain → Off. All Chains shows every failure chain connected to the selected element and marks the chain you pick with the up/down arrows in the analysis window as selected.
- [Canvas] Disconnecting now asks for confirmation, and cutting many connection lines at once is faster.
- [Settings] All settings now follow one another on a single page, and clicking an entry in the outline in the left navigation pane jumps to it.
Fixes
- [Canvas] Connecting many structure elements at once no longer pushes the upper-level elements downward; the levels now line up at their centres.
- [Canvas] Pressing `Del` with a level header selected no longer makes the header disappear from the canvas.
- [Analysis window] The up/down arrows now step through candidates in the same top-to-bottom order as the canvas.
- [Analysis window · Document list] Right-click menus opened near the bottom of the screen are no longer cut off or hidden behind the analysis window.
